Upcoming Meetings February 11 - Detective Todd Dunkie from the Hagerstown Police Department will be here to discuss Gang activity in Washington County and Surrounding Areas. March 11 - Jenny Snyder from the Washington County Health Department will be here to discuss the H1N1 (Swine Flu). She will have information on ways to prevent getting it and how to care for someone who has it. Our monthly meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and begin at 7:00 PM. Light refreshments will be served following each meeting. Please mark your calendars!!

The UbiDuo has a wireless range of 500 feet, 6 pounds of portability, and is effortless to use, making it a perfect solution for anyone with communication barriers. Scholarships The looking Glass and it's National Center for Parents with Disabilities and their Families are pleased to announce new scholarships for high school seniors and college students who have parents with disabilities. Maple Syrup Festival Cunningham Falls State Park - Annual Maple Syrup-Making Demonstration will be held in the William Houck Area on March 14 and 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you have ever wondered how maple syrup gets from the tree to your table, this is your chance for enlightenment. Come to the park to learn about the history, lore and method of making maple syrup. A Sign Language interpreter will be available on both dates.
Rangers and naturalists will demonstrate the process of making maple syrup, including tree topping, boiling, and packaging. Park Personnel and volunteers will give talks about the history and current status of one of America's early agricultural products. Special arrangements can be made for school groups: interested parties should call the park for more information.
The William Houck Area, or Lake Area, of Cunningham Falls State Park is west of Thurmont. Take Route 77 west from Thurmont, turn left at Catoctin Hollow Road, turn right at the park, and follow the signs to the demonstration area.
